Melanie Steele, vice president of operations for Walker-Miller Energy Services LLC, recently earned certification as a Building Analyst Professional from Building Performance Institute Inc., a national standards development and accreditation organization for residential energy efficiency retrofit work. Walker-Miller Energy Services is a tenant and business accelerator program client at TechTown.

“This accreditation is an important milestone for the expansion of the services that we can provide to our clients,” said Carl Walker Miller, founder of Walker-Miller Energy Services. “Our added certification will increase our service coverage for residential and small business customers.”

Walker-Miller Energy Services, formed in 2000, empowers consumers of traditional and alternative energy to monitor consumption using new meter technology. Steele, who has been with the company since 2009, will leverage her new certification to work specifically on problem-solving energy solutions for residential consumers. She will oversee the company’s strategic move to expand energy management and conservation plans to residential customers; services include residential home energy audits and other energy efficient solutions.
