What is THRIVE?

THRIVE  is TechTown’s entrepreneurial experience.  It is a marketplace full of resources to provide entrepreneurs with what they need when they need it.  Its aim is to meet you where you are and connect you to resources to propel you to success.  The entrepreneurial journey starts with an idea and execution is the bridge that leads to realized dreams.  It is the bridge of execution that Thrive aims to support.

What resources does THRIVE provide?

Based on the entrepreneur’s business stage of development and entrepreneurial experience, THRIVE offers coaching, mentoring, entrepreneurs in residence, industry experts, subject matter experts, workshops and forums, capital overview and connections, physical space and networking.  These resources are provided with an aim to core entrepreneurial outcomes that TechTown can be best in class at supporting.  These core outcomes include, business idea feasibility, funding strategy, business plan, polished pitch, revenue generation, job creation and more.

What types of companies/entrepreneurs does Thrive serve?

THRIVE caters to new and to serial entrepreneurs with business ideas from the early to growth stages of development.  Its primary industry focuses are supply chain management & logistics, arts & entertainment (creative sector), alternative energy, advanced manufacturing and life sciences.  These industries are based on the assets of Detroit’s region and where TechTown believes it can serve best in class.  We realize that first time entrepreneurs are just venturing out on their journey and so, if you are a first time entrepreneur with an early stage business idea, then our services are accessible to any industry focus.

Does THRIVE offer services for non-profits?

THRIVE’s services cater to for-profit start-ups.  However, many workshops and forums are open to the public and non-profits are welcomed where appropriate.

How long can a company/entrepreneur participate in THRIVE?

Services within THRIVE are offered a la carte or bundled.  The a la carte services are available for as long as an entrepreneur can afford to pay for them.  The bundled services have time limits based on entrepreneurial experience and business stage of development.  These time limits range from three months to 18 months and certain services are unlimited within the bundled package.

Is space at TechTown required to participate?

Space at TechTown is not a requirement to participate in THRIVE

TechTown’s website publishes information on dates for THRIVE services.

How can an entrepreneur get involved with THRIVE?
