One of Detroit’s most respected  journalists, Detroit Free Press writer John Gallagher, will drop by TechTown’s October First Friday to unveil his new book and to exchange tangible ideas with TechTown Executive Director Randal Charlton about Reimagining Detroit.

Gallagher’s book, Reimagining Detroit: Opportunities for Redefining an American City, paints a picture of possibility by looking at the city through its most abundant resource, land, and the potential for community-building as a result. The book will be available in October, published through Wayne State University Press.

Look for a dynamic conversation between Gallagher, who has covered urban redevelopment for two decades, and Charlton, a well-known advocate for Detroit and its untapped opportunity as an economic leader.

In fact, Charlton will make a little news of his own, as he unveils his work with Boom! The New Economy, an initiative aimed at enlisting the talents of 40-plus adults to help baby boomers into the ranks of entrepreneurship.
