A robust tech sector job market is one of the reasons Detroit's becoming a tech hub, according to a recent article from InfoWorld, a website providing news and analysis on emerging technologies. A two percent uptick in tech salaries, corporate investments, and a recent report rating Detroit one of the country's 10 most cloud-friendly cities didn't hurt either.

Free Press features TechTown’s Tran on immigrant startups

NextCAT secures $250k from Automation Alley

NextCAT secures $250k from Automation Alley

NextCAT recently received $250,000 from Automation Alley, bringing the company's total funds raised to more than half a million. NextCAT is a startup in TechTown's THRIVE accelerator program that is commercializing a biofuel catalyst using Wayne State University technology that will dramatically decrease the cost of creating biofuel. The technology could jump-start the biofuel industry, which has been stalled because of high material costs.
