Wayne State University Police Department Headquarters
The Wayne State University Police Department moved its headquarters to an Albert Kahn-designed building at 6050 Cass Ave., just down the street from TechOne. This former speedometer factory underwent a $5.7 million renovation and features the latest technology including wireless internet, an electronics repair shop, secure indoor parking for patrol vehicles, canine quarters, three holding cells, a gym and secure rooms for evidence and weapons lockup. Wayne State police are sworn Detroit police officers with full police authority within the city of Detroit, and all have at least a bachelor’s degree.
The Lofts at New Amsterdam
The Lofts at New Amsterdam I, just down the street from TechOne on Burroughs Street, features 40 loft-style units with classic oversized windows, complete kitchens, generous storage space and secured parking.
The Lofts at New Amsterdam II is a historically-designated building on Second Avenue also in TechTown. Its 50 loft-style units are now available.
